Q: I want my dog to look like a puppy again, how do you describe a puppy cut?

A: A puppy cut is meant to make them look similar to a puppy, and the fur around the body is probably about a half inch and then the head is a little longer. It makes them look like plush dolls.

Q: My dog has dandruff; what can i do if i find dandruff in my doggy's coat?

A: Dandruff may be caused by dry, irritated, or oily skin, but all of these conditions can be helped with appropriate holistic natural diet and natural soap free shampoo and a good professional bath. Check with your groomer to determine the cause of your dog's skin condition.

Q: My dog has a doggy funny smell. Why some dogs have a "doggy" smell?

A: An odor from the coat can be traced to a problem with the ears, mouth, feet, or anal sacs. An odor from the coat is often a sign of skin disease, such as food allergies, or yeast infection. Check with your groomer before checking with the vet to source out the doggy smell. For dogs with simple doggy odor , choose a medicated soap free shampoo and conditioner from www.labonepetspa.com or a the physical store location.

Q: My Dog keeps having accidents.  Do you potty train dogs?

A: Unfortunatley, we do not have the time to offer that. But we do offer plenty of positive solutions that has worked for us and our clients. If you need advice call us and ask away! We will be happy to assist you in any way we can.

Q: My dog is matted, I was told that my dog has to be shaved. Why?

A: Matting is a delicate thing, it all depends on the severity of the matting. If the matting is very close to the skin it will be too painful to remove. Let's put it this way, Its inhumane! It not only takes more time, it can be expensive. We have to carefuly stretch the skin, try to loosen the hair little by little to be able to pass the clippers thru without clipping the dog or cat. We recommend that you not let it get to that point by grooming your pet on a regular basis.

Q: What to do about Dental Care?  Why Teethbrushing?

A: Again, this is something that we can relate to. Poor dental care will cause gum and bone loss and teeth will fall out. Bad breath is the starting point and of course plaque and tatar build up will occur. Poor dental care leads to cavities, chronic oral infections or stomatitis, periodontal disease may cause bacteria and toxins to enter the bloodstream with potentially deleterious effects on internal organs. A greater awareness of dental disease in the dog amongst veterinary practitioners and pet owners will greatly contribute to the early recognition and prevention of dental problems, in particular periodontal disease. This is important, because periodontal disease may have a serious impact on a pet's well-being and general health.

Q: My dog has itchy skin.  What can I used to relieve my pets itchy skin?

A: If you bathe your pet make sure that you eliminate all soap residue. That is a major cause of skin irritation for dogs. Brush your dog often to remove dead hair and dander. If bathing is necessary, use a moisturizing shampoo made for dogs. Preferably one that is soap free. Their pH is different from ours, so don't be tempted to use a human shampoo-it is much to harsh for their skin. Follow a bath when necessary with a moisturizing rinse made for dogs and their special needs. Oatmeal is great for irritated, red and itchy skin. And Finally, don't forget that healthy hair and skin comes from within. Food is also a big factor for heatlthy skin. Many dog foods have everything that your dogs shouldn't eat.

Q: Frequency of Bathing:   How often should I bathe my pet?

A: We have clients that come every week, you can bathe them every two weeks or whenever is necessary. We carry shampoos that do not have soap that are natural and safe to use on a regular basis, and are taylored for pets that are getting monthly treatments for fleas (Frontline or Advantix). If you would like to know more about our soap free products give us a call.

Q: Bathing my Pet:  Why should I groom my pet?

A: As you already know, bathing makes you feel like a million bucks. We guarantee that your pet will feel the same. A dog's skin is more sensitive than human skin. Bathing our four legged friend on a regular basis helps maintain a healthy coat, healthy skin and a great smelling friend. Believe me, they love it.
